Lidia Bastianich, the chef, restaurateur and cookbook author often called the first lady of Italian cooking in America, chose American Pearl’s South Sea cultured pearl line to wear while filming her public-television series “Lidia’s Italian Table.”
Bastianich came to New York in 1958, owns the Felidia restaurant and, with her son Joseph, runs Becco in the theater district. The James Beard Foundation named her Best Chef: New York City in 1999.
