The original engagement ring centers a marquise-cut diamond between two pear-shaped side diamonds, all in 14K white gold. The pointed tip of a marquise and its tapered gallery leave a distinctive gap that a flat band tends to fight. So this matching band was drawn as a soft chevron — a shallow V that lifts on both sides and dips at the center, tracing the outline of the ring above it.

A band designed to nest, not compete
A contoured band earns its keep at the point where the two rings meet. Instead of butting a straight edge against the low-sitting marquise, the V follows the stone and lets the band settle flush underneath it. The line of pavé never breaks: the diamonds sweep up toward the center, pause at the marquise, and continue down the other side, so the pair reads as one continuous ribbon of light rather than two separate rings.
The details
The band carries 23 round brilliant diamonds, each about 1.35 mm, for roughly 0.21 carats in total. They are French pavé-set — held in a fine cut-down channel that hides the metal and leaves mostly diamond on view — in 14K white gold chosen to match the engagement ring exactly. At the deepest point of the V the stones step down in size, keeping the curve smooth and the sparkle even from tip to shank.
From the side, the contour lets the band sit flush beneath the engagement ring with no wedge-shaped gap.
Why a contour suits a marquise ring
Marquise, pear, and other elongated shapes sit low and come to a point, which is exactly where a straight band leaves an awkward triangular space. A contoured or chevron band closes that space, protects the point of the center stone, and keeps the engagement ring from spinning. The result is more comfortable on the hand and cleaner to the eye — the two rings look like they were always meant to be worn together, because this one was made to.
